Most Expensive Exciting Hobbies

Getting out of a country club golf game slump and into a new passion can be refreshing.

Here are some ideas to fill your days with more exciting activities.

Nascar

Nascar isn’t just for the South. It’s for anyone who loves speed and souped up cars.

Stock car racing school will put you behind the wheel of some of the world’s fastest cars. Ferrari’s, Lamborghini’s and BMW’s line up at many race tracks for you to choose from for your racing lessons.

Student drivers can hit speeds in excess of 180 miles-per-hour and personal instructors can be anyone from a racing professional to an in-person lecture by Bill Ford.

If you have the “need for speed,” fast driving lessons may be just the beginning.

Formula 1 race cars are not sold on just any regular car lot, and can cost upward of $2 million, but when you get to the race track you won’t have to wait for a rental.

Horse Racing

The Kentucky Derby and Belmont Races are two of the most famous horse racing events of the year, and race fans enjoy them as one of their favorite hobbies.

Watching Thoroughbreds run for the finish line will make you wonder what the owner of the number one Thoroughbred will be thinking.

Owning a racehorse can be an incredibly rewarding adventure, and is a major passion for many horse-lovers.

For a starting fee of $20,000, you can purchase a horse through a reputable horse training company that provides daily care for the animal and training. Commission costs, legal fees and feeding are all extras.

A horse starts in races an average of 10 times per year when they are selected to run at the track. Meaning if you’re lucky, you’ll be sitting in the winner’s circle counting your profits and glad you bought yourself a pony.

But remember, a horse is a living animal – not a money-making object. Horses require a lot of care, and if they don’t want to race, it would be cruel to force them to.

Yachting

On the waterfront, docks fill up with boats, but only a few need to be docked away from the rest because they need a bit more room.

Yachting is a luxury pastime. The bigger the boat, the wealthier and more powerful the owner. Buying a yacht can cost anywhere from $100,000 to $10 million. Customizing it to fit personal desires adds to the tab.

Resort destinations invite yacht owners to dock beach-side to attract beachgoers and increase luxury travel status. With your yacht, you can see the world, contribute to global tourism, and do it all at your own pace.
