Where the Richest Americans Live

September 28, 2021 By RichMinimalist

Where the richest americans live

The richest Americans do not necessarily own the largest homes or the land with the most acreage.

However, there’s something wealthy people know to be the most important prerequisite for a fantastic home.

It’s “location, location, location” and the following locations are where the largest number of the richest Americans live.

Where the Richest Americans Live

Beverly Hills

The infamous 90210 zip code boasts some of the most valuable real estate in the U.S.

With properties valued at an average of $4 million each, it’s definitely a posh place to live.

Most are single-family homes with 4 or more bedrooms and a bunch of celebrities call Beverly Hills home, including the Spelling family, Winona Ryder, Sylvester Stallone, Mike Myers and the Hiltons.

In addition to beautiful homes, Beverly Hills boasts some fantastic attractions such as the Frederick R. Weisman Art Foundation, Rodeo Drive and Anderton Court.

Manhattan

Between Park Avenue and Fifth Avenue in Manhattan is a wide array of luxury apartments that are home to some of the richest Americans and foreign nationals alike.

The median value of these apartments is $3.8 million in comparison to the citywide home value of just under $900,000. Most of these apartments come in at about 1500 square feet. Those living in this area can enjoy major attractions, like the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Radio City Music Hall and the Apollo Theater.

Los Angeles

It’s no surprise that a large percentage of those defined as “super-wealthy” live in Los Angeles.

What’s surprising is that the richest people in LA are not necessarily celebrities, artists, media or sports stars.

Research shows that the very top earners in the U.S. are CEOs, managers and supervisors of a variety of companies and organizations. The average price of homes in Los Angeles is just under $1.5 million.

There are plenty of fun attractions in and around LA, including Disneyland, the Staples Center, the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the LA Zoo.

San Francisco

San Francisco is home to those who are technologically savvy.

In fact, a huge number of entrepreneurs and venture capitalists live in the area and may lay claim to some connection with companies like Google, eBay, Apple, Facebook and other household company names. The largest groups of wealthy people in this area are in the math, engineering, computer and technical fields.

The median home price for a property with more than 3 bedrooms is $1,680,000.

Slight Surprises

Although the above locations are the crème de la crème when it comes to property values and rubbing elbows with heirs and A-listers, there are some locations that are very close runners-up.

Chicago is host to its fair share of major corporations and features homes that are worth an average of about $500,000.

Houston, which is the fourth largest city in the nation is home to 2,500 people who are worth more than $30 million each.

Malibu, Dallas and Atlanta are also big attractions for those with hefty wallets.
